Department of Business and Professional Regulation

November 22, 2016

Dear Friends,
Thanksgiving is here, and the holidays are officially upon us. On behalf of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
This week, as many of us begin to look for those holiday deals on Black Friday, it is important to remember another significant business day: Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday is an important day to appreciate all of the hard work many of our licensees put into running a Florida business. I am encouraging Florida consumers to visit local businesses this Saturday, November 26, 2016.
Small Business Saturday is a nationwide promotion to emphasize the importance of shopping local during the holidays. Supporting our small, local businesses this time of year is a great way to help your community’s economy. Additionally, local businesses can offer first-hand services and unique products that can’t be matched.
So, before you peak ahead to Cyber Monday, take the time Saturday to visit that local boutique down the road or the mom-and-pop shop around the corner. You’ll be glad you did!
Have a happy and safe holiday weekend!
Sincerely,
Ken Lawson’s Signature
